Speaking of fascists. Los Angeles, California city council has taken it upon themselves to fine and/or ban pornography that does not have condom use. It will not allow productions of porn in Los Angeles county without the use of condoms. [canadian business article]

In short, they are telling the porn industry that they have control over what the public sees. This follows that they can also tell them, filmmakers, artists, and the general public what they can create, and how they can create it.

The porn industry is in an uproar, and rightly so. Unfortunately, the media (ala LA Times) will more than likely ride the political side of the fence per usual. Even though it is such an outlandish and blatant abuse of power, which violates those sacred constitutional amendments they hide behind and clutch so dearly themselves, it still does in fact prove that California law makers are out of fucking control.

Besides being a total intrusion into a business where it has no right to intrude or make rules for their employees. This ‘law’ will no doubt effect Los Angeles’ already sad excuse for an economy. Many of the more prominent producers in the porn industry had already stated that if something like that passes, they will simply take their business elsewhere. After all, they don’t need Los Angeles to do their jobs.

They’re right. And frankly, I’m not an advocate of pornography, but I agree with them one-hundred percent. They should leave, if not out of spite, than to get away from inevitable snowball of abusive power that’s tumbling recklessly in California. If losing massive amounts of revenue, taxes, and currency is the only way to make these hollow suits realize they’re over-stepping their bounds, do it. Do it quick, do it… gonzo.

It really is not the city council’s business. It’s basically like the Pilot telling the Skydiver to wear a helmet. It’s not only none of his business, it doesn’t effect him. The Skydiver knows the risks involved, and it’s his decision to jump. Most people just want to see the free-fall anyway.

You’ve got to ask yourself at some point; If miss-guided, and morally ambiguous nanny-ism make their way into powerful hands, who is left fighting in the peoples corner?

If they can tell them how to do their work. Then they can tell you how to do your work.

Sadly, if this wasn’t about porn, this radical disregard of peoples freedoms might be taken a bit more seriously. But alas, much like the closet fascists who support Santa Monica regarding smokers, homeless, plastic bags, and people who don’t wear dinner-jackets. This is just another, in a long line of politically correct, non-thought out, decisions the idiots who run California have decided to spew onto it’s major populace yet again.

California. So wild, so crazy, so innovative… Cultured.
